Hi Terry and Lucie,
I have just read some of your postings. I found about them thanks to Lucie's article in La Presse on TransAndes published today.
I'm back from four weeks travelling through Peru with Éliane. For me it was my third trip. We travelled the same road as you in the Andes and along the coast, but we made it on buses and minibuses. We are over 65, but tough. We can understand how much doing it on bike is a real challenge. Peru is rough. We were always on the lookout with our gear (cameras and packsacks). We were lucky not even getting some fake money.

We added two weeks travelling in Chile down to Santiago. It was much easier.

We travelled in Argentina for a month in 2007 down to Ushuaia. It should be a treat, and not only for meat and wine.

Bonne chance. C'est un voyage difficile, mais qui a une dimension initiatique. Je pense au voyage que fit Che Guevara vers 1952 depuis l'Argentine jusqu'au Venezuela en partie sur une moto. Un tel voyage transforme ceux qui le vivent.
