Timesavers: Our “Get to Guatemala” Action Plan

March 3rd, 2010 · 1 Comment

Well, we’ve been in Mexico since December 22nd. Either we get out of the country soon or become Mexicans. This nation is beautiful and vast and is trying to keep us within its borders forever.

We can’t push the bikes any faster; there’s sort of a set equation that goes something like hills over wind multiplied by the weight of our stuff squared by how much oatmeal we had for breakfast. We can only eat so much oatmeal. So the only solution to finally getting out of Mexico is to sit on our bikes a little longer every day.

Who has time to sit around and enjoy that morning coffee? Not us! We’ll take that to go, thanks.

Who has time for stationary dental hygiene? While life is passing you by, we’re passing fields of cattle and coconuts and removing harmful plaque.

On a more serious note, we’re looking forward to reaching our first Cyclo Nord-Sud partner in about two weeks time, el Centro Salvadoreno de Tecnologia Apropiada (CESTA), in San Salvador. We’re also very excited to cross into Guatemala. Details to come soon! Stay posted!

How successful have you been raising money for the Cyclo Nord-Sud partner?? How are you two surviving as well. Great trip, by the way. I read your site like a morning paper.
