Day 4 – Glennallen, Alaska (km 322)

September 9th, 2009 · 1 Comment

We’re now on day 4! Yesterday we were awoken by the distinctive call of a coyote, and were serenaded by wolf howls throughout our breakfast of hot oats and coffee.

Now that we’re getting farther from Anchorage, traffic has thinned considerably. We’ve swapped views of snowy peaks and glaciers for endless stands of spruce and tundra. There are few easy miles in Alaska so far, and there have been a lot of climbs.

Now we pedal north toward Tok to get around the mountains before diving south toward Whitehorse.

Look for a major update with some great photos soon (hopefully from Tok in a few days)!

Beautiful. Here’s the people I told you about, Tor:

He did the last “lap” – the Atlantic, by rowboat, that is – with his fiancé, now wife.
